PISTON SCHOLAR JOE ESTEVEZ’S DREAM CAREER HITS THE DIGITAL “CAR-SCAPE”

Joe Estevez fell in love with cars and auto racing as a 5-year-old growing up in Florida, going to such races as the Sebring 12-Hour and the Daytona 24-hour in the company of his race-car driver dad, Jose. He recently graduated from Palm Beach State College and is now using his expertise in 3D printing and digital design in his first full time job.

Piston Scholar Riley Sojka Aims for An Upholstery Car Career

Two events changed Riley Sojka’s life. One was visiting a car show in July of 2018, during his high school years in Wichita, Kansas, and the other was an opportunity to sit in a 1967 Chevy Camaro. Both experiences introduced Riley to the idea of a car career. He realized that, “Yeah, this is what I want to do. I want to work with these cars.”

Piston Scholar Nigel Bannister Wants to Open his Own Restoration Shop

 At the young age of 18 and a freshman at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio, Nigel Bannister has already immersed himself in all things automotive, including high-performance technology programs at the college, restoring a freebie 1987 Corvette, and even spending weekends working on a pit crew for a NASCAR Xfinity Series racing team.

Twenty-one-year-old Zachary Wiernusz loves classic cars. From an early age, he couldn’t help but follow his passion to work on them. After all, his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were car nuts. Now, Zach is eager to continue the family tradition.

Piston Scholar Lindzie Archer is Discovering Her Automotive Career

When she was 14 years old, Lindzie Archer discovered she loved performing oil changes and working on her dad’s Toyota 4 Runner and 2008 Ford Escape. Now, at 21 years old, Lindzie attends McPherson College, taking chassis restoration, machining technology, automotive trim and drawing classes in her Junior year.
